An optical comparator is a great tool for any shop. Unfortunately, they are typically underutilized. The optical comparator class is a good introduction to the many uses of a comparator with a modern digital read out (DRO) "computer" interface.  Best practices will also be covered to help you to make accurate, consistent measurements. 

Equally important are what measurements and specific situations you should probably not rely on an optical comparator as your primary metrology tool.

Ideally, this class will take place in your shop using your comparator.
